Friday night update

Hi everyone,

Hope you had a good travel/practice day today. Here are a few quick reminders for tomorrow :

START LOCATION - is at Woodhaugh gardens. (click here for Google Map Pin). We have no official parking, so just park anywhere you can. There are usually a lot of parks along Melvern St.

NO COFFEE - Yes we know, this is tragic, but we couldn’t get a coffee vendor to come. They were all busy elsewhere. So you may want to get some on the way in or else bring a big bribe for Mat !!

RACE WAVES - Please see your race waves here. If you really want to move into a different wave, its okay, you don’t need to let us know.

LATE REGISTRATION - If you didn’t manage to register today, then please come before 9am tomorrow for late registration. After that it will be tough to find time as we will be busy briefing riders etc.

AFTER RACE AT EMERSON’S - Make sure you remember that beer voucher we added into the race packs. That will give you a free beer at Emersons tomorrow evening between 3.30-6pm.

Have a great night and see you bright and early tomorrow !

Kashi and Robbie

Update - 2 weeks to go

Covid Plan - Yes we have one! The gist of it is that if Dunedin is at level two for race day, we will still be racing. However it will be on a shortened course and we will run two 'waves' which don't intermingle. We won't be able to hang around and socialise between the waves before and after the event. We really don't want this, but at least we are sure we can still run the event. If we are at level 3 we are screwed, race cancelled and we will refund you all your entry fees as promised. If you are in an area with level 3 and can't make it due to the travel restrictions, we will also refund your entry. Fingers crossed !!!

Emersons gathering - due to the timing and various works happening at Emersons, we unfortunately we won't be able to hold the traditional dinner at Emersons this year. We will however offer you all a beer voucher in your race packs, which will be redeemable on Saturday afternoon/evening. We encourage you all to go meet up and grab a drink. Normal food is available as usual.

BBQ - We will have the grill fired up after each day of racing with some burgers for you to enjoy. So hopefully that will make up for the lack of the Emerson's feed :)

Schedule - Friday is practice day. We will publish the track maps online and email them out on Thursday evening. All of the tracks will be marked and ready to ride. All riders will get two shuttle passes to use on the Signall hill shuttle from 3.30pm till 7.30pm. You can pick these up with your race number at Rego, which will open from 2.30pm at the Signal hill carpark.

Saturday starts and finishes at Woodhaugh Gardens again and you will be transported to Whare Flat for the first few stages. If we are at COVID level 2, this plan may change. Stay tuned to your email/FB/website blog etc.

On Sunday we will be back at Signal hill for another awesome day with 3 laps on the cards, followed by a quick prize giving and we'll have you on the road by around 3-4pm.

Entries - We still have some spots, tell your mates to enter !!

Volunteers - We are still needing a few marshalls for Saturday. If anyone can help us, please respond to this email... would really appreciate it !!!

Call out for Volunteers

Our event depends on amazing volunteers to help us on the weekend and we are currently looking for new volunteers to help us on March 13th and 14th

.
Would you be interested? We do provide a free tee shirt and lunch, and you’ll be part of a great team that provides an awesome event to a huge number of riders!

If interested, please click here and complete this form. We will then be in touch.

Update - 6 weeks to go

Hey all

We just sent an email out to all entrants. If you didn’t get it and you think you are entered, please contact me kashi@blackseal.co.nz

Robbie, with help from some clubies, has put together a wicked course. I'v been out to test some of it and its awesome. Just wicked fun trails. The local builders have been doing amazing work recently, so its going to be awesome fun for you all.

We are going to do a giveaway on FB and Insta each week from now till the race. Winners will be those that give the best shout outs / photo shares while tagging us in and using #3peaksenduro. Get into it... prizes include Supreme coffee, Yeti clothing vouchers, Ground Effect socks and maybe something from Emerson's?

If you can get here for Friday practice day, we will be giving everyone 2 free shuttle runs at Signal hill. Shuttles will run from 3.30pm till 7.30pm. Rego will open from 2.30pm at the Signal hill carpark.

New Date Annnouncement

PUT THIS DATE IN YOUR CALENDER’S NOW FOR THE NEXT EDITION OF THE EMERSONS 3 PEAKS ENDURO

12-14TH MARCH 2021

We are excited to announce that after much discussion we have decided to move the 3 Peaks Enduro to the second weekend of March, a date we hope to continue with in the foreseeable future. This date is one week after the YETI TRANS NZ Enduro and a week before the Crank Worx Enduro in Rotorua, making for a great month of racing for international riders to prepare for the first EWS, just a few weeks later in Nelson.

Of course we are still unclear exactly what will happen with COVID 19 and our boarders, but we will guaranty this… if either you can’t make it due to COVID 19 restrictions at our boarders, or if there is a reemergence in NZ of COVID 19 cases so we can’t hold the event, we will refund your entry fee in full.

We are still working through final details for the event, however the day to day schedule will be as follows :

Friday 12th - Practice day on all trails. Local shuttle operators will provide uplifts to some tracks (costs for this not included in entry fee)

Saturday 13th - The epic day out riding many of the best trails in the hills surrounding Dunedin

Sunday 14th - 3 stages at Signal hill followed by prize giving around 2-3pm

We have talked with EWS and they have confirmed the date, so we will be a Enduro World Series Qualifier again, allowing young up and comers the opportunity to race for points to qualify for the main series.
